Formal Bids

Notification of Bids

The County Purchasing Act, as amended, provides that notice of proposed purchases of $50,000 or more must be published at least once a week in a newspaper of general circulation, with the first day of publication being at least 14 days before the date of bid opening. Generally, projects exceeding $50,000 are advertised in the Hood County News Saturday edition in the classified section under public notices. Listed in the advertisement will be a short description of the products or services desired, the project number, and the time and date the bids / proposals are due. It will also list the location where bid packets may be picked up.

Bid Packets

Bid packets are available from the Purchasing Department and can be mailed to a vendor when requested. The Purchasing Department assumes no responsibility as to the timely delivery of mailed bid packets. Bids are due by the local time stated in Granbury, Texas on the stated date. Under no circumstances will late or faxed bids / proposals be accepted. Bids may be downloaded by potential vendors from the county website. Paper bid packets must be mailed or delivered to Hood County at 1402 W Pearl St, Ste1, Granbury, TX 76048.

Electronic Bids / Proposals

To prepare a submission to a bid opportunity, you will need to register as a vendor by clicking “Register” in the upper right-hand corner at http://co-hood-tx.bonfirehub.com . There is no charge to vendors to use the Bonfire Interactive procurement portal.

If you need assistance with the registration or training process, please contact the Bonfire support team at 1-800-354-8010 or at
