Patrol

The Patrol Division of the Hood County Sheriff’s Office is the largest and most visible division within the Sheriff’s Office that provides law enforcement services 24/7, 365 days a year. Patrol handles a varied range of calls from noise complaints to homicides and covers 437 Square miles with a residing population of 64,222 (2021 Censes). Patrol consists of 26 full time deputies who are all dedicated to serving Hood County.

The Patrol Division is responsible for the routine patrol of Hood County and duties include:


  • Responding to all calls for assistance from citizens
  • Preservation and restoration of the peace
  • Protection of life and property
  • Detecting violations of criminal law and apprehension of criminals
  • Crime prevention
  • Assisting other law enforcement agencies
