Emergency Management
Responsibilities
The emergency management office's responsibilities include:
  • Assessing risks
  • Assisting local officials, departments, and agencies in coordinating mutual aid to surrounding counties and, when needed, the state
  • Coordinating responses within Hood County
  • Locating funding opportunities through local, state, and federal governments
  • Providing support and training to many of the volunteer organizations that help make the Hood County Emergency Plan effective

The emergency management office is also responsible for mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery during an emergency. This is done through a comprehensive review of an all-hazard mitigation plan. Additionally, staff work to provide training opportunities to the citizens of Hood County.
