Lori J. Kaspar
My name is Lori J. Kaspar and I am proud to serve as your Hood County Attorney.

My Career as a Prosecutor.  I began my career here in Hood County as a misdemeanor prosecutor in 2006 when I became an assistant county attorney.  In 2008, I moved next door to the district attorney's office where I prosecuted felony cases, wrote felony appeals, and represented the Department of Family and Protective Services in CPS cases.  In November 2012, I was elected as your Hood County Attorney.

My Career as an Educator.  In addition to being an attorney, I am also a retired public school teacher.  I began teaching in 1978 and taught for 26 years.  I have taught students from kindergarten through eighth grade in language arts, science, math, and social studies.  During my teaching career, I also earned my master's degree in gifted education and my certification to be a school administrator.

Teaching and Law School.  In 2001, I was admitted to Texas Wesleyan School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas.  I continued to teach during the day and I attended law school classes nearly every night.  Despite my hectic schedule, I still was able to participate in the Moot Court Honor Society and the Moot Court traveling team.  I also served as a Notes and Comments editor of the Texas Wesleyan Law Review.  After four long years, I graduated from law school and passed the Bar.

Presentations.  As part of my service to our community, I would be happy to come speak to your club or organization.  I have the following presentations ready to go at a moment's notice:
  1. Nellie Gray Robertson. The first female county attorney in Texas.
  2. The Job of a County Attorney.  You'll be surprised to learn everything my office does!
  3. Pleas, Please!  The truth about plea bargains.
  4. Protecting our Victims.  How the County Attorney's Office helps victims of family violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking.
  5. Domestic Violence.  Recognizing and combating domestic violence in our community.
If your group would like a presentation on another topic of interest, please email or call me at 817-579-3216.
