Hood County Turns 150!
Hood County was founded in 1866, so 2016 will be its sesquicentennial. Be ready for a year of fun as the whole county comes together to celebrate its 150th birthday!

written and presented by Cowboy Poet Steve Woods.

Music, and a Nellie Robertson tribute by Lori Kaspar at 4:00 PM.

Sesquicentennial Queen and King announced.

2:00 - 2:30 P.M. in the Gazebo on the Square
Celebrate Hood County's 150th Birthday with cake, cookies and cupcakes!

  • Safety and Emergency Preparedness Displays by Constable Precinct 4 and the Community Emergency Response Team
  • Groundwater Cycle Display by the Upper Trinity Groundwater District
  • Veteran's PTSD information from Pecan Valley Centers
  • Master Gardener's of Hood County Information Table
  • A variety of Hood County History Books and Sesquicentennial T-Shirts will be available for purchase.  J.C. Campbell will be on hand to autograph his book of illustrations.
  • Sons of Confederate Veterans, Hiram Granbury Chapter will present Civil War information.
