Animal Emergency Issues Committee
Be Prepared
Emergencies come in many forms and may require anything from a brief absence from your home to permanent evacuation. Each type of disaster requires different measures to keep your pets and livestock safe. The best thing you can do for yourself and your pets / livestock is to be prepared.

Hood County Animal Emergency Issues Committee (HCAEIC)
In Hood County, we are concerned about the well-being of our animals during many types of emergencies, including disease outbreaks, floods, fires, and tornadoes. The HCAEIC is a group of volunteers developed under the Hood County Emergency Plan. HCAEIC members work with the Hood County emergency management office as well as county, state, and federal agencies to ensure that needs are met.

Training
Committee members are dedicated to the education, training, and assistance of citizens and animals in Hood County. Monthly meetings are held where normal business is conducted. Informational training is also provided on several topics such as:
  • Incident Command System
  • Rescuing different types of animals
  • Treating animal injuries

Meetings
HCAEIC meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm at:
Annex 1
400 Deputy Larry Miller Dr.
Granbury, TX 76048

You don't have to be a member to attend a meeting! For more information, please contact the HCAEIC.
