The Hood County Elections Administrator is
responsible
for
administration of all Federal, State, and County elections. The Elections
Administrator is
responsible for
publication
of election notices, preparation of ballots and voting equipment,
training and
co-ordination of appointed Election Judges, co-ordination of polling
places and
the actual election day proceedings, and the official recording and
reporting
of election results. Additionally,
the Election Administrator’s office serves as the central repository
for
election
results and
other related data, and is responsible for the distribution of this
information. Only
data that is
permitted under the Open Records Act (Chapter 552 of the Texas
Government Code)
may be distributed to the general public.
The
primary responsibility of the Voter
Registrar
is
voter roll administration. The voter roll is the list of all
the
registered voters in Hood County. The administration of this
list
entails registration of new voters, maintenance of information
regarding current voter certificates, and the bi-yearly renewal of
currently registered voters. In addition to this, the Voter
Registrar is the central repository for all information regarding
registered voters and is responsible for distribution of this
information as required for election or demographic purposes.
Only data that is permitted under the Open Records Act (Chapter 552 of
the Texas Government Code) may be distributed to the general public.
