Essential duties and responsibilities &lt;BR&gt;
1. Monitor and dispatch all radio communications for eleven radio bands. &lt;BR&gt;
2. Receive calls for service from the public concerning emergency and non-emergency services over forty-eight phone lines. &lt;BR&gt;
3. Input and update all calls for service in CAD system. &lt;BR&gt;
4. Input and update all information from Texas and National computer files. &lt;BR&gt;
&lt;BR&gt;
Other important duties and responsibilities &lt;BR&gt;
1. Maintain a variety of written logs. &lt;BR&gt;
2. General office clerk duties, record keeping and filing. &lt;BR&gt;
3. Monitor all security cameras in dispatch office. &lt;BR&gt;
4. Change Dictaphone tapes and have working knowledge of all equipment functions in dispatch. &lt;BR&gt;
5. Knowledge of all equipment functions in dispatch. &lt;BR&gt;
6. Required to activate, for public safety the emergency operations center, in times of natural disaster, nuclear accident at Power Plant or for civil defense. &lt;BR&gt;

		<description>Definition &lt;BR&gt;
Provides assistance to the Fire Marshal and volunteer fire departments in various areas such as; fire investigation (arson investigation), enforcing the laws of the state of Texas and Hood County Commissioners Court. Assist in Emergency Management issues of Hood County and all other matters necessary to insure a safe and efficient operation of fire protection in Hood County. &lt;BR&gt;
&lt;BR&gt;
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES &lt;BR&gt;
Including but not limited to: &lt;BR&gt;
&lt;BR&gt;
1. Enforce the Laws of Commissioners Court and of the State of Texas. &lt;BR&gt;
2. Investigate all fires of the County in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Fire Marshal and the State of Texas, and filing a report with the Fire Marshal&amp;rsquo;s Office. &lt;BR&gt;
3. File an appropriate Report with the District Attorney&amp;rsquo;s Office and County Attorney&amp;rsquo;s Office or Justice Courts of Hood County. &lt;BR&gt;
4. Assist the Fire Marshal in maintaining records of any accidents involving on-duty firefighters or VFD vehicles and reports these to the Volunteer Firemen&amp;rsquo;s Insurance or an Texas Mutual Insurance and coordinate between Hood County Personal Department for processing of claims. &lt;BR&gt;
5. Enforce administrative policies and procedures to assist in County record keeping requirements. &lt;BR&gt;
6. Assist in any Emergency Management issues of the county. &lt;BR&gt;
&lt;BR&gt;
Qualifications &lt;BR&gt;
Knowledge of: &lt;BR&gt;
1. Fire fighting equipment &lt;BR&gt;
2. Management abilities &lt;BR&gt;
3. The Laws of the State of Texas &lt;BR&gt;
4. County policies, procedures and fire protection issues. &lt;BR&gt;
5. Applicable laws, regulations, codes and department policies governing assigned duties. &lt;BR&gt;
6. Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment &lt;BR&gt;
7. Fire Investigation procedures &lt;BR&gt;
&lt;BR&gt;
Ability to: &lt;BR&gt;
&lt;BR&gt;
1. Interpret, explain and enforce department policies and procedures. &lt;BR&gt;
2. Understand and interpret fire protection regulations. &lt;BR&gt;
3. Work independently and be a self-starter. &lt;BR&gt;
4. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. &lt;BR&gt;
5. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. &lt;BR&gt;
6. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with each volunteer fire department &lt;BR&gt;
7. Enforce the Laws of the State of Texas and Commissioners Court &lt;BR&gt;
8. Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following: &lt;BR&gt;
&amp;bull; Sitting for extended periods of time &lt;BR&gt;
&amp;bull; Walking, standing or stooping during assigned activities &lt;BR&gt;
&amp;bull; Lifting and carrying heavy materials &lt;BR&gt;
